The £600m extension to Westfield London began in 2015 and when it opens it will bring 740,000 sq ft of additional retail, dining, entertainment and leisure space, in addition to a further 47,000 sq ft of office space. The 90-plus new units coupled with the 230,000 sq ft John Lewis brings the total number of stores at Westfield London to 450 across 2.6m sq ft of lettable area, making the centre the largest in Europe.
Our client required a fire barrier installed to the front of their retail unit in order to carry out their fit out works. Westfield insisted that the fire barrier meet LPS 1207 classification and be fit between the retail front and the shopping mall concourse. As this was a temporary barrier we chose a fire barrier that met with the LPS 1207 criteria, was cost effective and due to our clients time frame, easily installed. Works were completed on time and to Westfield specifications.
